Fast Phil's convenience stores were created in 1980 with first store in Union Grove, NC.  From there we have grown to as many as 17 stores.  Over the years, several locations have been sub-leased to independent owners.  Currently we have 12 stores in  North Carolina. Three stores in Mooresville, 1 store in Troutman, 7 stores in Statesville and 1 store in Yadkinville.

While most of the stores are located near the I-77 and I-40 interstates, we have developed a very loyal local clientele.  Many of our local customers visit our stores every day.

We have accomplished this in many ways, including having employees that are dedicated to good customer service.   We have consistent pricing for all stores so as a rule no matter which Fast Phil's you shop in, you'll pay the same low prices.  We have monthly specials as well as pricing some main items (bread, milk, eggs, cereal)  lower than supermarket prices.

Fast Phil's low prices and good customer service combined with our convenient locations has kept customers coming back year after year.

Fast Phil's is proud to reach a milestone this year of being in business 25 years.  While our fast paced world keeps getting faster, we plan to be around another 25 years giving the same value, convenience and customer service that our customers demand and expect.  We would like to say thank you for letting us serve you.

Homegrown Convenience

Fast Phil’s is making its mark with redesigned stores, innovative card programs, consistent low prices and generous employee benefits.

Reliability, a word that all retailers strive to achieve nowadays, is the first word that comes to mind when Fast Phil’s is mentioned to local residents in southern North Carolina. The chain, which has 12 stores spread out over Troutman, Mooresville, Yadkinville and Statesville, N.C., is known for its steadfast pricing and a subtle streak of business ingenuity.

Incorporating technology used by major retailers, Fast Phil’s has its hand in proprietary and check cashing cards, rewards programs and the latest inventory management tools. These investments are helping the small company thrive in the face of extremely formidable? and ubiquitous?  competition including The Pantry and Wal-Mart.

Employees who have been with Fast Phil’s for years recognize the company’s efforts to provide them with an ample bonus program and consistent job rewards, and pass on their satisfied and sunny attitudes to customers.

Walter Herring, Fast Phil’s vice president and general manager, has kept the chain profitable while larger chains have continued to expand around them.

“We’ve created a destination stop for our customers while maintaining low operating costs and low prices,” said Herring. “How do we survive down here? It’s simple. Stop that guy on the street and ask him who has the best price on bread, and he’s not going to say Food Lion. He’s going to say ‘Fast Phil’s.’ When it comes to competition, all the great prices are of no use unless you give great customer service, and that’s what our employees are best at.”
